Advice on CD Player - MP3 capability

Hello, I am looking to buy a cd player that will also play MP3 discs to pair with an Onkyo 505 AV Receiver and MS914 Speakers. Don't want to spend too much but am I likely to pick up something decent in the £100 range? Any recommendations?

Happy to go the 2nd hand route too.

Cheers, C

Why not buy a DVD player that can play MP3s ? Your listening to compressed audio anyway. I have a DVD player that plays MP3 discs I have created in ITunes. Sound very nice.

Re: Advice on CD Player - MP3 capability

Already have a Dvd player - Went for the Toshiba HD player and its great on DVD's but it takes too long to start up and eject cd's etc and it doesn't play MP3's . The audio aspect for Cd's isn't that great anyways whch is why I want to get myself a cd player. There are some Marantz separates on ebay but would be grateful for some tips/suggestions on what to go for.

Toshiba SD-9500 - you just missed one on the classifieds section here for £250. I can't think of anyway to spend £200 ish on a CD/MP3 spinner TBPH.

Re: Advice on CD Player - MP3 capability

Also searching for CD-player with MP3 and found only second hand stuff under J100.
- Sony SCD-XE597/s
- Sony SCD-XD780
and more expensive
- Nad C515BEE
- Denon DN-C635 with professional rack mount

As for me I'd like to choose between Nad C515BEE and Denon DN-C635.
Can't listen any of them but think Nad is more musical, Denon is more reliable

DVD-player is not good for music and not comfortable in navigation. I just bought Onkyo DV-SP 405 and 'm very satisfieid in video, but not in music (for my tase).
