Soldering and banana plug advice

I have a dodgy connection on one of my turntable's phono cable connections. Any advice on solder to use/ techniques for the best audio connections?

While I'm at it I plan to replace all the cheap speaker wire banana plugs with higher quality ones. Any recommendations for quality banana plugs that cope well with two strands (as I'm bi-wired) of solid core copper mains cable?

Re: Soldering and banana plug advice

http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?...0sold&doy=13m8

silver solder from maplin 12.99 from 250 g.

Maplin solder is 4% silver, 95.5% tin and 0.5% copper.

Mundorf Au .1% (gold) - Ag 9.5% (silver) - Cu 1.8% (copper) - Sn 88.6% (tin)

Mundorf seems to have much complicate combination, however, i have no idea if they are really better
