Linn Karik CD - power issues - any cheap cure?
I've had my Linn Karik/Numerik combo for many years now, supported by a Linn Kairn pre-amp and a Linn LK280 power amp. Currently auditioning a pair of Totem Arros (but that's the subject of another post)
The system had to be boxed up for a year as there was no space or room to set it up. I spent yesterday unboxing and cabling at our new house, and everthing sounded and appeared to be working fine, but then the Karik started to play up. Here are the symptoms:
- Stopped playing a CD, but green power light remained on - all buttons on panel frozen
- Cannot power on - power switch has no effect
- Pressing power on switch does nothing, but when powering off, the green power light comes on and then fades off immediately
Does this sound like a user replaceable fuse problem, or is his an expensive trip back to a Linn dealer?
Any help most apprecaited!
Up until the time it decided to play up, it sounded just great, and was a real treat after playing CDs on a Panasonic DVDR or Toshiba HD-DVD for the last year
