Marantz pm7200 amp and tv audio sync problem

Hi Guys,

Got a Marantz PM7200 2 channel amp wired up via RCA cables to a Samsung le40 a656 lcd tv and am having lip sync problems.

If its wired up as above the sound from the amp is slightly ahead of the TV ( giving a great cave effect ), if i wire the amp via RCA cables direct to the source ( Sky HD, Denon 1940 dvd player ) the sound from the amp is well ahead from whats from the TV.

The TV is connected to the sources via HDMI cable. Had a look on both the DVD/Sky and they both do offer a audio delay, but only via the 5.1 rca outs, not the 2.0 outs i use.

Any advice please, do i need an av amp - but is this overkill as i will never use more than 2 channels on it.

This is a well-known problem with your Samsung - it fails to delay the audio signal sent to its audio out. If you had an A/V amp you could compensate for the Samsung deficiency, but as you say this is overkill given that the fault is in your TV. Moreover unless you spend decent money, it will sound less good too.

One option is an external audio delay unit, such as http://www.felston.com/. These devices are typically used to address issues having separate audio and video paths rather than TVs with design blunders. There are probably other manufacturers of such devices; your dealer should be able to help.

The felston look like what i need if they did one that could do the delay on analog, the felston only works with digital. Cant find anything that dont work with digital. Got £400 ish to play with any other suggestions?

that looks perfect, but cant find it in the UK, will have to have a look around.
