Sony TA-FB940R Amp Tone Control Range
Hi. Newbie to the forums but hope somebody can help?
I have the above amp and am not sure if the symptoms are just normal with this unit or whether it needs looking at? The problem concerns the bass and treble. There is some adjustment on both, just very minor. I expect the tone to change quite abit when I move both knobs, but it seems very little happens. Don't get me wrong, there is some change just not alot! The loudness button also changes a little but not alot. If I put the bass fully up and the treble fully down, then listen to the music by alternating with the source direct button, there again is a marginal difference but not masses! Does anyone have this model or the AV equivavlent who can shed any light on whether it is just this model or whether so3mething needs looking at by an audio engineer? I have had other amps in the past, mainly a fantastic Sugden, until that died and that had far more range on the tone controls than this. I even had an old Rotel that was far more adjustable. Hope someone out there can help. Cheers
