Please help me decipher all this stuff!

Hi all,

new to all this home hi-fi, but have just relieved a friend of a friend of a load of bits and was wondering how useful it is....

Firstly, I have two Nakamichi MB-2S's, 7 Disc Musicbank systems. (although I have just discovered one shows an "Err" message...

Secondly, I have an AudioAccess MRX Multiroom Controller.

Thirdly, I have a Teac W6000-R dual tape deck.

And lastly, and perhaps hardest to work out is an Aura AUV-80-MIR/240 amp.

It's like this, but in black.

Can anyone shed any light? I know it's all old (probably 15+ years!) but is it worth owt? (to use, not necessarily to sell on)

Cheers, James.

Re: Please help me decipher all this stuff!

Its was all really good stuff in its day, if you have use for it and it works great

Especially if it was free or cheap

Think the amp should still sound pretty nice now ?

Re: Please help me decipher all this stuff!

Thanks, I had been told it was decent stuff but am pretty clueless on home hifi tbh.

One of the cd decks and the amp works, so I have a base on which to build. Unfortunately I don't have any suitable speakers to really test it, but tested at low levels (with a George Michael CD I found in the changer! ) with some crappy speakers it doesn't sound too bad at all - George Michael aside...

So, which speakers could you recommend for an amp like that? (Say budget up to £200 + cables extra)

One of the Nak's is displaying an "Err" code - what'll it be like to fix?

Anyone know owt about the MRX?

Cheers

Re: Please help me decipher all this stuff!

In its day Nakamichi gear was legendary, and VERY expensive.

Looks like you've been a lucky boy.

May I recommend the Mission m70-series speakers, now discontinued but excellent value second hand.
