New (Well 2nd Hand) Speakers?

Hi,
I have the following Kit:

Audiolab 8000CD
Tag McLaren DAC20
Tag McLaren PA10
Audiolab 8000PX
Mission 752 Freedom.

Kimber 8pr/ 4pr biwire.
Kimber Crystal H (CD interconect is atenuated).

I also have a Yamaha AV Amp which feeds into the PA10 and some Mission AV speakers which will be kept.

However I have moved to a new house and the lounge is much smaller (13.?'x11.?' ish) than our old one, and the missions are over powering the room, visually and maybe a bit sonically.

So I'm thinking of changing the speakers for some (much)smaller stand mounts. Initially I though of the 751 freedoms, but my kit has been upgraded since I bought the 752, so maybe something more expensive might be in order.

I'm really looking at 2nd hand speakers as I haven't got huge funds, probably no more than £400 including stands (although less would be nice).

As the binding posts on stands mounts will be in the air I will have to get new speaker cable so will be making some Twisted Pair Ethernet cables, as the Kimbers will be too short and I've heard great things about them. Although the upgrade to the Kimbers from QED Qudos Bi-Wire (£4.50/ meter) was the best upgrade I ever made.

Any sugestions welcome

An approximate idea of funds available would be useful!

In the meantime, I'm guessing that a pair of Acoustic Energy AE1 classic "might" be in the right ballpark. Heard a set of these recently and was VERY impressed.

Yeah I've always liked the look of the AE1's and have seen a couple of pair on eBay in the last 6 months, and know they had a great reputation, but would they be too good for my system? As i'm at the point (or was in our last house) with the addition of the DAC20 that sonically I'm delighted with the system.

Cheers

Re: New (Well 2nd Hand) Speakers?

I keep hearing good things about the Revolver R33's, although I haven't heard them myself.
The other speakers I hear good stuff about and nearly brought myself are the Dynaudio 52SE's. Which you may just get 2nd in your budget of £400, otherwise there's the plain 52's which are a bit cheaper. Have a reputation of reaching very low bass frequencies, but need a lot of power to drive.
