Help needed with complete house system

Greetings people, any help appreciated....

I'm after setting up a system to play moosic over my whole house, and not just from little stereos all over the place like I have now.

I would like to be able to play both CD's and music straight off my PC if possible.

Don't know if this is reasonably doable, but sure one of you experts will!!

Cheers in advance

Re: Help needed with complete house system

use a squeezebox to send streming music viua wireless to your rooms and then each room has to have a amp and loudspeakers, job done. or if you want amplification use the sonos devices with builtin amp and speakers also wireless. Both systems use your pc hard drive to stream msuic that has been ripped to the hdd.

Re: Help needed with complete house system

Hi Ben,

would you please be good enough to answer a couple of question?

1.) What kind of sound quality are you after, would you be happy with compressed audio or would you want uncompressed?

2.) would you be prepared to accomodate stand alone amps and speakers in each room, or do you want in ceiling and in wall speakers with all amplification hidden.

3.) Do you want all zones centrally controllable, or each zone to have it's own control system?

4.) How many zones do you want?

5.) Roughly how much would you be prepared to spend?

Thanks and best wishes,

Dave

Re: Help needed with complete house system

Dave..

I'll do my best to answer them! :-)

1) I'm looking for good quality, the last thing I want is to set something up and then in 6 months be annoyed for not having got the best. Compression-wise, it will be both compressed and uncompressed (I have a lot of FLAC and MP3's and am looking to start buying a lot more music)

2) I would be willing to have visible amps and speakers, although I might want to hide them in a couple of rooms (to be honest would be dependant on the cost/benefit ratio)

3) This is a big 100% separate control please!!!!

4) Four or Five zones will be enough, but would like the option to put in more if needed

5) I'm not gonna put as little as possible in here (Damn, just did!!). Obviously dont want to waste money, but have got 5-6K sitting around for this and a theatre setup (worth combining the two projects in one??)

Really appreciate any help you can give, and apologies for the delay in the reply.

Thanks also for your reply MazsterUk, will have a look at those systems
