Processor/pre-amp warm and power amp cool is this .....normal?

Hiya,

Just made me think reading something saying that the cooler av gear stays the longer it may last.

Now I can't quite work it out, the processor/pre-amp, I thought would not need to do much work compaired to a power amp. But the pro/pre is warm even when doing nothing, and gets warmer/hot when its actually working, where as the power amp ( powering 2x4Ohm speakers) even after a day of somewhat loud music just seems to have the chill off of its case ........?

Could this be why the pro/pre has been repaired once already........
