Is my cd player dying?

Hi all,

As the title suggests is my cd player (Rotel RCD950) showing signs of its age?

I was playing The Who over the weekend and the music being reproduced had a very harsh sound to it, almost like interference or static. Im pretty sure the Cd is ok, will check it in the car. I have had this problem before with a Stones CD but it seemed ok after a while. I can play something such as Faithless and that sounds fine. Is it the rockier music that is causing this and why?

Any advice welcome, I have put a cd cleaner in it and its still the same.
