Advantages of cd player

I am currently using a Marantz DV4400 dvd player to play all my audio Cd's with a marantz DV4500 amp and tannoy fusion 4 speakers and i am wondering what sort of difference does it make if i had a dedicated CD player, this DVD player was pretty expensive well for me it was and just wondering if i would see any difference in using a CD player instead, music from this DVD player sounds amazing but if i could get better then i might be interested in getting a CD player instead.

I am currently connecting the DVD player to my amp via a digital coaxial cable.

Cheers for any suggestions.
