hi there, any ideas about a budget? I would look at the spendor s3es. really nice speakers and match very well with the cyrus. throw a thump you wouldnt believe from such small speakers and arent fussy about placement.
as for uprgading the cyrus its a mixed bag. some people actually prefer the 6 to the 8 as apparently the treble is a little hotter on the 8. I havnt heard a 6 so i cant comment on this. You also get the option of adding a psx-r power supply to the amplifier.

i would stay away from the b&ws personally. very nice speakers but i dont think they would match well with the cyrus. i havnt heard them paired together so i may be wrong but i feel the cyrus would be a little too bright with B&w.
not a clue about mordaunt short, never heard any. perhaps someone else could help there.

Got a set of Mordaunt Short 902s, very nice, not getting the most out of them at the moment. I'm a bit of a newbie myself. I'm told the are slightly bright, and i would tend to agree with that, depends on what the amp and CD player are like im sure. I have a spare set if you are interested gimme a shout.

in the end i got some quad 12L speakers, and some cable from chord co, sitting on some partington stands.

i had conflicting advice about biwiring, and was told it was a waste of time and expense. so did not.

any other views?
