Sony Minidisc MDS JB 920 - no sound?

I'm new here and have a problem.

I have a Minidisc deck, MDS JB 920 and a Pioneer Amp (A-103). In following some simple instructions in hooking up, I can't get any sound. I'm using Tape/DAT via analogue hook ups and hear nothing. The 920 seems to be working with the correct displays showing. The Minidisc seems to be rolling along - but no sound. I've tested both Tape/DAT on the amp and Tape/Monitor via an Aiwa cassette deck and everything is crystal clear. I've tried changing the interconnects, swapped them around (the instruction book says Line out on the Minidisc deck to Tape/DAT (in) on the amp and Line In on the Minidisc deck to Tape/DAT (out) on the amp).

And I have adjusted the volume accordingly - but nothing. Anyone got any tips? And if so, what do I need to do get to the Minidisc repaired?

Looks like you've got the connections right. It could be the output level - when the deck is playing a disc, try adjusting the 'Rec Level' knob (the top-right hand corner on a JB-980 - should be similar for a 920) and see if that works.

Thanks for the reply. Tried it - no success. Just silent. Is it possible the amp can't take MD? Failing that - I presume the interconnect terminals are dead? (as I've tested the terminals on the amp)

I've double checked everything including selecting analogue as my source.
