Question Denon Smart Series S-301 Universal 2.1 Dolby Virtual Surround System

Did a quick search in here for info on this but didn't manage to find anything, so I was wondering if anyone has experienced this little system?

From the specs, it looks to have everything I need. Would be interested in anyone's opinion of: a) This particular set-up; and b) Denon as a brand (I know precious little about them).

Cheers!

Shadow written I was mightily impressed with the S201 when I heard it in the US last year, excellent picture (component) and sound for CDs & DVD-Vs was excellent for an all in one IMHO), I wrote a write up about it in the Ain1 forum but cant find it now.

FWIW I am a huge fan of 2.1 for AV use & for stereo, my system is geared around this thinking, also consider that you could for the same money as the Denon, get a :

DVD player £200 Sony N92
Stereo Amp with pre-outs Denon PMA-1500 AE : £500
Set of Standmounts : £200 Castles, Epos,
Subwoofer : £200 worth of BKE

OK £300 obver budget but you catch my drift. But you are improving the amplification and speakers+sub by going the separates route by quite a margin I would say. For convenience though it’s a nice way to spend £1000 ie the S301. Both routes are excellent ways to spend £1000-£1300 on a combined AV system for movies and CDs stereo wise.

Power to 2.1 dude !!! For AV and stereo.
