Which combo should sound better? :)

I will be demoing myself sometime soon but just wanted to know which combo should sound better in a room that is 13ft by 18ft:

I am keeping my Musical Fidelity A3.2 Amp, Atacama SE24 stands (yet to arrive ) and the Chord Rumour 4 cable,

Have to decide between Arcam CD72 and Marantz CD63 MkII KI Sig

and: B&W CDM 1SE or Celestion A1

any idea of which combo SHOULD sound better or is it all just down to personal taste here?

Just wondered if any of you had any opinions on this

Cheers,

Kiran

If you're buying used then I'd buy both pairs of speakers and possibly both CD players (I think they'll be less difference between the CD players than the speakers though) and demo them at home then keep the best ones. As long as you don't pay over the odds you'd be very unlucky to lose more than 10 or20% on them. Of course this assumes that the capital is available to tie up on extra gear for a month or two.

Yeah ive already got the cd players, just using the arcam at the moment and i do like it, will be trying the marantz again in a few days to see which i prefer, but im going to have to repeat that if i do try some A1s because surely one cd player might go better with one speaker and not another?

I'd be having the A1s if it were me.
