Decent CD player £150ish
My lovely Philips CD650 has finally thrown in its hand in after 20 years. Have £150ish to spend, what should I be looking at? Richer Sound CA fodder? Or is there better?
Thanks in advance.
PS slight advantage if I can get it in black!

You might be able to get a used Cambridge Azur 640C, NAD C541i, Rotel RCD-02 or Arcam CD62 for that money. All good spinners.
Alternatively, the Sony DVP-NS900V or Philips DVD-963SA dvd players do a great job with cd and are both available at or around £150 used.

maybe Marantz CD5400 or CD5001 are not such a bad idea
i think you should get any of these brand new for that kind of money if you look around.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys. The player seems to have got its 2nd wind and is reading discs again. It might be just dirt on the laser, I'll get a cleaning disc.
Out of interest, do people use these cleaning discs on a regular basis?

Certainly do, around every 50hrs of use / once per month.
DVD player every 3rd month, PS2 every fortnight, PC not so much and car when I can remember.
