Advice:Denon DM35DAB + Bose acoustimass 2.1 - Good idea or bad idea?

Hi there

I am likely to get the Denon DM35DAB system very soon (once Denon make a few more! They seem to have sold out everywhere!)

However, my main question is whether or not I should also purchase the bose acoustimass 3 speaker system to go with it. (I am a fan of the "less is more" idea, which is why I have got my eye on the Bose)

Would appreciate advice on whether parting with £250 for the Bose is a worthwhile investment or a mistake.

You could definately get better fidelity out of conventional speakers but if the small size is your main objective then I personally don't think it makes much difference. The Bose will be amongst the best of the ultra compact designs at a reasonable price. I would urge a listen to see if you like how they sound as much as how they look.

I am considering a similar set up. I just dropped into Audioscene in Chesterfield to demo the Bose AM5 speakers, but got comprehensively ignored by the (one) member of staff who preferred talking on the phone to generating any business (I even showed interest in an ARCAM Solo to try and tempt him away from the phone!). Disappointed, I then went into the nearest branch of Currys where (despite less than perfect listening environment), I helped myself to a lengthy listen to a Denon 35DAB unit. I assume, therefore, that they aren't as rare as you think.
nb, I think Currys only supply them with included Denon speakers though.
