Advice on Floor Standing Speakers
I'm putting together a home theater system and I'm struggling with the speakers.
Here's what I got so far:
TV: Sony KDS-R60XBR1
Receiver: Sony STR-DA7100ES
I'm in love with the Sony TV. My family member works for Sony, so that drove the second choice. It seemed like a capable reciever for a good price.
The speakers are tougher.
I'm considering the boston acoustic floor standing VR1 line about 275 USD each with the Boston Acoustic Subwoofer PV700 for 449.00 USD
and the Boston Acoustic Center Channel Speaker 369.00 USD
They're marketed as entry level home theater speakers. Is there a significant difference between them and the Boston higher model numbers such as the VR2 and VR3? There's a significant jump in price, but to a newbie such as myself, will it make a difference?
What's the most important factor model number, or does system calibration and setup matter. I put computers together for a hobby, so I'm thinking I'll be able to figure out set up. Am I off base?
What's your general opinion on the SONY / Boston combo? Any advice is greatly appreciated in advance. Am I missing anything?
Total speakers are 1500 USD.
Thanks

I've got cabling questions, but I'll pose those elsewhere.
