Would you upgrade the interconnects/cable on this system?
At the moment I am using a Currys bought (unknown brand) digital interconnect between my Sony RDR GX210 Dvd recorder/player and Nad T741 AV amp, Gale XL189 speaker cable to my Acoustic Evo 3's and Mordaunt Short MSC 20 centre, the rears (cheap n cheerful Eltax) are fed by cheap flat cable but as that cable runs under the carpet I'm not thinking of upgrading that.
Would I hear any benefit from upgrading the interconnect or Gale speaker cable with the equipment I have?
I use the Sony for all my viewing and listening (including stereo) by the way.

as long as the digital code is read ok does not matter whether the link is an old wire coat hanger,or a diamond encrusted gold cartier cable, it is only a code and not a signal.
therefore as long as it is an uncorrupted code it will be decoded correctly

No harm in trying a different coax, just to see I suppose.
Mind you I only notice a slight difference when I plug a 200quid coax in a 110quid dvd player (usually use a 12quid coax).
But do notice a much bigger difference when its pluged in my usual source for stereo listening, (where it usually lives).
