What Amplifier Should I buy?

Hi
I've recently been looking in to buying some speakers for when I move in to an new house in a few months. After helping a friend purchase some speakers a while ago I already know which ones I want to buy, since the sound quality is very high for the price, and I really like the design, however I am unsure on the amplifier to purchase with them.
The speakers are these: http://www.hifi-tower.co.uk/Beng-Pai...lack_i1109.htm, I realise they are very cheap but I cannot afford anything better, plus the quality achieved with the amplifier we used: http://www.hifi-tower.co.uk/Auna-Amp...stem_i3199.htm was exceptional. However I now notice that the speakers have 2 x 200 Watts RMS with an inference of 8 ohm. and the amp has 2 x 20W RMS. does this mean the amp does not provide anywhere near the power the speakers can handle?
The amp I would actually buy is this: http://www.hifi-tower.co.uk/Auna-Amp...400W_i3136.htm since they do not currently sell the other and I presume this is just a newer version, this has 2 x 50W RMS, I am new to speakers but does this mean my system would actually provide approximately 2.5 times the power?
The main question I have is, Is this amp the best one to buy for the Beng speakers, please bear in mind all I want to use with the system is the 3.5 mm aux connector so I can play music of my phone / laptop, I don’t need the karaoke side of this amplifier.
Thanks in advance for your help
Peter

For the price of those items you will probably not do any better. However, if on a tight budget I would be looking at some second hand kit instead. Looking on the classifieds here should be able to get you some good value kit. Since you have a small speaker budget you will get better sounding speakers by going with standmounts instead of floorstanders (for the same money standmounts tend to be better sounding compared to floorstanders).
I would not worry about the power of the various items as it is a very poor guide to anything. The sound level you will get will depend a lot on the sensitivity of the speakers etc. The power rating on the speakers will be a maximum that it can handle and there is no need to have an amp to match this. Most speakers will have a minimum power value as well which will be a lot lower than the maximum (often around 20W or so) and this is the value you need to ensure your amp exceeds.

cheers for the quick reply, admittedly I'd be able to get better sound quality on the second hand market, but I do really like the design of these, plus having heard the speakers before I am really happy with the sound quality. as a result I am fairly set on these speakers, the only thing I'm not sure on is the best amplifier, are there other amps better suited for them? would a power amp be better? am I paying extra money for the karaoke part of the amp? if someone could recommend the best possible amp for around £50 it would be really appreciated.

thanks again,

peter.

I would agree with PSM1.

for a very small budget second hand would be the way I would go.

Quality second hand items while not dirt cheap will always be quality if a bit old sometimes whereas new and cheap is seldom a good combo new things are generally cheap for one very bad reason

I have to agree with the others and say used is the way to go.

But if you insist on new you could have a look at this little amp

if you're happy with the sound spend the money on music.
i'd be surprised if the new amp made much difference, and certainly not 2.5 times as loud. the speakers can handle more power, but this doesn't mean more power will sound better.
