Shpongle......!! Never heard of them, but your description has made me very curious. Just downloading their free 10 track sampler at the moment. Will report back....!

Chieli Minucci ~ Jewels (1994). Of his many albums under his own name, I have to say that this remains his very best (minus one duff vocal track).

Bill Connors ~ Double Up (1986). Just electric guitar (a Pensa-Suhr, I think), with Tom Kennedy on Fodera 6 string electric bass & Kim Plainfield on Gretsch drums & Paiste cymbals. A phenomenally tight yet fluid power trio, perhaps a little like the better parts of Steve Khan's 1980 Eyewitness album, featuring Anthony Jackson on (6 string electric) bass and Steve Jordan on drums. Interestingly, that album was also recorded and co-produced by Doug Epstein at MediaSound in NYC. Perhaps that's why I like them both ~ really tight, with great bass.

Fusion jazz is a genre that just never juiced my lizard as the saying goes, though I do own Billy Cobham's Warning album from 1985.

Just listening to Cream's 2005 reunion concert at the RAH, great stuff.

Time for some Good old fashioned Rock'N'Roll

The Answer - Revival - Spotify

Not sure yet if it is as good as their first 2 albums at the moment, pretty good though.

"Gaucho" by Steely Dan, 96/24 FLAC (HDTracks) on my HiFi system.

I haven't listened to this album much since I got my new amp. Prior to the new amp, I was never really blown away by the sound/sonics of this album. I always heard people raving about it but just never really understood what they were hearing.

I put the album on last night and I really started to "get it". I think I'll still always prefer the more organic sound of Aja, but I'm really starting to appreciate the sound of Gaucho too.

Listening to Kanye Wests (40 tracks).
Highlight so far is "Talib Kweli - Get by"

Today I took delivery of the following from MoFi:

The Beach Boys - Pet Sounds Ultradisc UHR Hybrid SACD
Stevie Ray Vaughan - The Sky Is Crying Ultradisc UHR Hybrid SACD
Beck - Sea Change Ultradisc II 24 KT Gold CD
Rush - Permanent Waves Ultradisc II 24 KT Gold

Right now I'm listening to "The Sky Is Crying" on my HiFi system (see sig).

Holy mackerel! What an incredible sounding disc. The sound/sonics of his cover of Little Wing is jaw dropping.
