Randy Tico - Earth Dance , Cd on system below .
This Cd is just absolutely beautiful it takes you to a wonderful and exotic musical place .
This disc is very special indeed, there are so many musical textures and flavours all mixed into a sound that explodes with joy an vibrancy . As you can probably tell I love this recording

Royce Campbell ~ Vista (1993). One of my enduring favourites from the man who was Henry Mancini's touring guitarist for 20 years, supported here by Steve Dokken (bass), Dane Clark (drums), Terrence Cook (saxes & flutes) and Chris Leiber, Jeff Lashway and Kevin Keiser (keyboards).

Isaac Hayes ~ Shaft (1971). Still magnificent after all these years. The only edition to buy is the ZYX remaster, even though Do Your Thing has been savagely truncated to make way for a load of spurious video content. The Bob Fisher remaster is bad beyond belief.

Yes, it is an amazingly potent recording, even if all the tracks on it aren't entirely my cup of tea. For all that, though, my favourite piece of Stanley Clarke's recorded music remains the Life Suite with which he rounded off his very first solo album from 1974. Tony Williams' drum work is quite awesome, not to mention Bill Connors' electric guitar playing.

Just listening to Vangelis ~ Blade Runner OMS (1981).

Been seeing Carlos Santana in Concert since the 80's and still do when he frequents.

Also listen to a lot of Dire straits too, I have a huge collection of music and a variety of tastes

my collection is not big by any means but since i got into (proper) hifi it is slowly growing and my main focus now is lp it's a much nicer medium. mainly because it is tactile and artful which is a major plus.

whenever i have a dilemma of what to listen to and can't decide, dire straits tops the list. always liked their music when i was a youngster but appreciate their music more now than ever.

for the integrity of the thread i'm listening to something that has been gathering dust for ages but a pleasant listen although it's one of those cd's that you get bored of if listen too often.....

coldplay - a rush of blood to the head

sometimes that happens to me!

thought i'd try listening to coldplay's new album mylo xyloto again.... perhaps only 3 tracks i like from the album which is a bit of a disappointment. i have 3 other albums from coldplay, all as good as each other on their day but this one just doesn't cut it for some reason. i think this one will just have to gather some dust for a few years and then maybe it might grow on me, but this year i can't get into it!

Checkfield ~ Through The Lens (1988)
----------------------------------
Home system (Wadia/Bryston/PMC)

P.S. Attended the Bath AudioFest yesterday, staged by retailer Cool Gales. Only five systems on dem, but every one of them sounded truly awful, in part though by no means entirely due to the hard, echoey acoustics of all the high-ceilinged Georgian rooms. A novice dropping in to hear what serious hi-fi might have to offer would almost certainly have been put off any notion that it might be worth what it costs.

Gap Mangione (brother of Chuck) ~ Suite Lady (1978). Still, after all these years, one of my very favourite albums from the early days of smooth/funk jazz ~ and [I][B]still[B][I] not available on CD, other than as part of a sort of compilation minus one crucial track. One of life's minor (musical) frustrations.

@cornish, like you I have all the previous Coldplay albums but agree the latest is dire. The track Charlie brown aside I can't believe it's the same band. Heard the current single ? on radio today. Some no doubt popular female doing backing/duet vocals, As they try to extend their audience base. utter crap !
