Is Cambridge Audio Azur 640C V2 still good? In Richer Sounds they are selling them for 200 only (ex-display model)

Should be, that was a very good value for money CD player.

Yes it is. RS are selling them cheap because of the release of it replacement, 650c and to get shot of the refurbished ex demo's and returns or as they call them, 'Graded' cdp's. Still a class player anyway

Thanks. What would be it's rivals and at what price? How does it compare with new 550C ?

At the price they are being sold off at i dont think there is any - i could be wrong tho.

With Regards to how it compares with the 550, i'm not certain. I suppose you could check the CA web site and see what has changed between the 540- 550 and 640-650c. Then you can hop on down to RS and have a listen and see for hear for yourself.
