meridian 506 cd player

can anyone give me any feedback on wether this is gonna be much better than my arcam cd72t . as i can pick up a second hand one at the minute thx

I have the 24 bit version. I previously owned an Arcam Alpha 7Se, the predecessor to your player. The Meridian is a big step up, and is one of the best cd players i've heard at the £1000 mark. You do need decent amplification and speakers to hear it at its best though.

I agree - it's a huge step-up from a CD72, no matter which version the 506 is.
