Hi - does your budget include speakers or you have a pair already?

If it doesn't then I would recommend stretching to £300 and going for the Cambridge Audio One from Richer Sounds - I got mine yesterday and think its a fantastic bit of kit. And also it has the sub out that you require.

£100 second hand, you will find a few of the HK amps of yesteryear have pre-outs on them, HK6500, HK6550, HK6150, HK6350. Wonderful amps. Far superiror to any £300 new amp.

You're not making much sense dude, if you are after single amplifier with a pre-out (like the HK6550 for £100 second hand) or a separates system with a pre-out for a sub (like the Denon DM31 series £100 second hand)

Re: recomendation of a hi-fi with sub out

hi there seems to be some confusion, i am not after a large amp then a seperate set of speakers,

my bedroom is to small for that, i would like to buy a hi fi i.e two or more speakers and the main unit and connect an active subwoofer to it

Re: recomendation of a hi-fi with sub out

Yes mine did - I had the 5 CD and then the 5 DVD units and both had a sub out

They did sound good but I wouldn't call them proper hi fi though - I would get a Denon DM37 with some speakers for around £280 brand new as it's very small, sounds great and has all the new stuff on board like a DAB tuner and a USB port which will save on making CDs

Re: recomendation of a hi-fi with sub out

Over your budget, but not by much, consider this Harman Kardon HK3390 AM/FM/Receiver with 80w/ch and dual Subwoofer outputs, price at £260 to £270 -

HARMAN KARDON HK3390 FM/AM STEREO RECEIVER £263.57 at hifix.co.uk

Harmon Kardon HK3390 is a high quality stereo receiver with 2 x 80 watts - available from Superfi UK

Full Specs at -

Harman Kardon

Here is a thread where we are discussing HK amps -

Who Here has a New Harman Kardon Amp?

This discusses the pluses and minuses, but overall the consensus is very positive.

Just a few thoughts.
