Philips and DVD-A

As most of you know, Philips (along with Sony) have been
actively promoting SACD while dismissing DVD-A as an inferior
format.
Well, in a surprising move, Philips look set to release a system
that supports both SACD and DVD-A.
Here's the full story......http://www.highfidelityreview.com/ne...umber=17013573

Thanks bowen. A very interesting piece. Could either have HUGE implications, ie that with Sony and Phillips bowing to the already wider hardware compatibilty of DVD-A, that DVD-A will become the format of widespread use and SACD limited to super-fi, or just that the big two in Digital audio are covering all bases. One wonders..........

I hope Sony joins them soon or my next player WILL be a Pioneer!

I will NOT buy a restricted player - I want both SACD and DVDA
