SACD cables?

what cables do you use to connect the sacd player to the amp. Is it just 3 sets of rca cables or something else??

What about Optical or Coaxial? U wanna go with RCAs?

Unless you have the Pioneer DVD & receiver with firewire link then RCA is the ONLY way to get SACD (& DVD-A).
Optical & coax do not carry the SACD data as it can only be decoded on the DVD/CD player and not by any AV receiver (except as mentioned above).

Does this advice apply to DVD-A? My problem is this. I have just bought a set of speakers and moved from listening to DVDs in stereo to surround. All is is fine except when I play my DVD-A (and yes my Marantz is a DVD-A player) the Pro logic symbol comes up on my Yamaha AV & I don't get surround, or particularly decent quality. I've tried digital and 6 channel. Any tips?

Yes, this does include DVD-A
To get the full DVD-A sound you need 6 RCA analogue connections from DVD to AV amp. Set the DVD to output 6Ch analogue and the AV to External input (6Ch analogue).
My 3802 does try to output a DPL2 signal if I forget to set the DVD to analogue output or external input on amp.
So to get a DVD-A to play I do the following:

Set DVD to output 6ch analogue from players audio setup menu
Set DVD-A disk to play DVD-A (instead of DTS or stereo) from disk menu
Set 3802 input to 'Ext in'
Sit back and anoy the neighbours

It is a lot of playing around to get a DVD-A to play correctly, but well worth it IMHO.
