Hey all,

Ive currently got a pair of Ultimate Ears triple.fi 10 Pro earphones which have served me well for the last year. Theyre great in situations where I need noise cancelling or dont want to disturb others but they are damn uncomfortable during long listening sessions.

As a result I'm looking for some comfy open or closed cans for listening at home when speakers cant be used but when leakage doesnt matter too much.

My budget is pretty flexible but I want to at least match the sound quality of the UEs, which I assume I can do more cheaply with cans?

Can anyone recommend me anything?

AKG K701 are good, but no longer cheap.

I would say the AKG K701's do not really compare with the sound signature of the Ultimate Ears Triple.fi 10. The K701's need driving with a decent headphone amp, and even then I find them a little uninvolving and distant.

Just my opinion!

I'd suggest that Grado headphones are a better match, with a lively, energetic delivery similar to what makes the Triple.fi's so enjoyable to listen with.

The Grado SR225 is an excellent headphone for the money and I'd suggest the best price/performance value in the Grado line up.
