Sennheiser CX 550 STYLE II

Just got these buds this morning, fired it up with my ipod ..and boy was i impressed!! it has a very good low frequency ..the bass was tight and not overpowering..the mids and treble was quite clear too.... it has a warm signature to the sound which i think is what sennheiser is known for..
The only drawback i see is the cable does not look very strong but it has a 2 year warranty so any faults with it i will send it back.
i think this is going to be well liked as the cx300 was...but this is better then the cx300 ....way better..

Re: Sennheiser CX 550 STYLE II

I was thinking about these to replace my CX-300. A question for you guys, do they still suffer with cable rub noise?

Ian.

Re: Sennheiser CX 550 STYLE II

In my experience many in-ear sound isolating earphones suffer from cable transmission noise. It's not just the CX300. Even high end earphones, such as the Klipsch Image series, suffer from this.

The best solution to this is an over the ear design, such as the Sennheiser IE series, Ultimate Ears Super.fi 5 Pro, or Klipsch Custom series. This not only reduces transmission noise up the cable, but also keeps the earphone on the ear during activity (e.g. running).

Other solutions include clipping the cable to clothing near the collar to prevent the noise travelling up the cable.

The Sennheiser CX550 is an excellent earphone for the money and I often recommend this earphone to customers. Nice warm sound. Excellent build quality. Ergonomic design.

Cheers, I might give the Klipsch Custom a try, I have seen many good things said about them.
