I need some advice on Headphone Amplifiers please.

I have recently purchased a Sony KDL-32V4000 LCD TV. After trying many different types of Headphones, I decided that I didn’t quite like the Sennheiser Wireless Headphones, and thought that I had found the ones for me when I recently purchased some excellent Philips Headphones. The Headphones themselves are everything I wanted except for one thing. For some reason, the sound that it produced through them is too low, and it doesn’t seem to change anything even if I turn the volume up on the TV itself.
I had just about given up on them when I heard about Headphone Amplifiers.

I don’t know anything about Headphone Amplifiers, and was hoping to get some advice. Would this be a solution to my problem in increasing the volume of my Headphones, and what should I look for ? Obviously I don’t want to put anything into my new LCD TV that would risk damaging it.

If changing the actual volume on the TV doesn't do anything it may be that there is a separate "Headphone Volume" value in the menu.

The mods should merge this post with your other one asking the same question. You should avoid double posting the same issue

Are these Phillips headphones also wireless? Wireless headphones also have a volume wheel in the headset, I'd try with that. Moreover, my experience (with Sennheiser) is that the sender unit has a built-in limiter to keep the input signal within range and avoid clipping. This could also be the origin of the problem.
