Hi guys,

I recently bought some Sennheiser CX 300's and although they looked like the originals and came in retail packaging something about them doesnt live up to their reviews. Sound quality isnt that good, asked my dad which headphones sounded better, a cheap philips pair that came with an mp3 player or the cx 300's and he said the philips were more bassy.

So i have decided to replace them with either the Philips SHE8500 or the Creative EP-830's. Can anyone recommend any alternatives in this price range?

Really want to know which ones are better value for money and sound better/bassier.

are you sure they were not fakes...there are loads of them out there

I took the Cx300's apart and compared some fake photos to them and I came to the conclusion they were fake. They had a driver similar to the fake ones and the mesh looked like it was stuck on from the outside. They are now in the bin.

I decided to be some Creative Ep-630's from amazon.
They are apparently very bassy and have some good reviews.

I would avoid the Philips SHE8500 and go for the SHE9500. The cx300 out performs both IMO and can be had for £18 from Play.

I have the Philips headphones and the CX and my preference is

1/ CX300
2/ SHE9500

and as a very last resort the SHE8500. I think the standard IPOD buds sound better than the 8500's !!
