Thumbs up Headphones for PC gaming only

I posted this in the PC section and got nothing so I moved it to here - hoping for a some advice to replace a knackered set of Speedlink Medusa 5.1s.

... after a few years of service my Speedlink Medusa 5.1's are knackered. The mic boom is wrecked and one of the cans has fallen off ! So I need a replacement and am looking for advice.

- The budget is £50-£70ish
- Solely for PC gaming (so no real audiophile requirements)
- Attached mic is needed
- I do not have a separate sound card, just on board from a Gigabyte EP45 DS3R (has digital out).

The creative fatality combo gets mentioned quite a bit .. but then slated heavily. Are they that bad or is it just that there is better in the price range?

Ideally I would like a replacement set of cans for the existing Speedlink amp (the headphones are the original ones with the round 9 pin connector... not usb), but I can't find these.

Any advice or suggestions?

Thanks.

Re: Headphones for PC gaming only

Thanks for the reponse. I have looked at the HD600s but I would really prefer to have the mic attached to the headset for convenience. Is there anything in this space that anyone would recommend for the £50-60 budget?
