Westone UM1 Replacement Tips Help!

I brought a set of Westone UM1's a few months ago and totally love then, so much so that i ended up getting the misses some the other day to as she started to like them too.

I'm about to go traveling so want to get some spare tips to take with me, but I'm having trouble finding them.

When I got the UM1s they came with a short and a long set of Comply tips, but when I look to buy these all I can find are Standard and Slim Comply tips. Both look like the long ones, with the slim ones just slimmer looking so not what I'm after. Westone tell me to buy them direct from them and Comply just won't reply to my emails. Anyone know which ones the shorter tips are Westone supply with the UM1s are and where I can get them?

Thx!

Re: Westone UM1 Replacement Tips Help!

I use Shure Olives. Shure tips fit on Westone just fine. When I still had my Shure E4G, I routinely experimented with fitting between it and the UM2 with different tips. I eventually settled on Olives on a balance of durability, comfort and sound. They might not be quite there at the peaks for sound but such tips are not as comfortable as they are the hard "bullet" tips

Not actually called 'Olives', its just the name given to them due to how they look
Shure - Black Foam Sleeves

I've included the second link to indicate their durability. Best fit I have had

Thanks! I was reading the headfi forums earlier and came accross a lot of thread recommending the Shure ones as well, so I ordered a pack of mediums earlier and they should be here tomorrow.

Hopefully they'll be similar size to the short Westone ones as I find with the large westone comply tips they push against my ear which is a bit uncomfortable.

Will post back how I get one with them tomorrow.

Re: Westone UM1 Replacement Tips Help!

How did you get on with the Shures? Just got some UM2s today and keen to experiment with replacement tips.

The smaller bundled Complys seem to fit well and the large ones are very uncomfortable, so just want to know if I should go for the small or medium Shures.

Thought they were brill! In New Zealand at the mo so used them for nearly 24hrs of flying and they were perfect. I used the medium ones having had the small comply ones and thought they were fine, though the misses needed the small shures even though she used the same small comply ones.
