Should i get the sennheiser HD650s?

I have been looking for my perfect headphone and cant find anything that suits my taste.

ive tried a few different models, goldring's dr150 which i found muddy, undetailed and no high frequencies. The akg k240 mkIIs which sounded very detailed, slightly warm but no sub bass response and very fatiguing. i currently use audio technica M-30s. These are the closest ive come to what i like to hear but these are still cause my ears to get fatigued and have slightly exagerated low bass (i like a little extra sub bass).

so, what do people think of the sennheisers? looking at frequency respone graphs i am guessing they will be a little warm, detailed and incredibly smooth sounding with no fatigue at all, basicaly my perfect headphone! But (and this is a big but) maybe lacking in sub bass for my taste (by sub bass i mean 50hz and below) which according to this graph

http://www.headphone.com/technical/product-measurements/build-a-graph.php?graphID[0]=853&graphID[1]=3&graphID[2]=&graphID[3]=&graphType=0&buttonSelection=Compare+Headphones

is rolled off, just like the AKG K240 which i found to be very lacking in these frequencies but, i know that numbers and graphs can say 1 thing but peoples ears can say another.

Also, can any body tell me how well i will be able to drive them well from a marantz pm7200 headphone output.

cheers.

Re: Should i get the sennheiser HD650s?

hi there, the base on these is very good but not sub base levels that you require and they need a good supply to drive them properly, a kimber cable upgrade helps a great deal but this adds another £195 and if you add a headphone amp easily another £100 plus, best thing to do is try and demo some if you can before you buy, hope this helps....steve....also you could have alook at this site...www.headfi.com....for some detailed reviews and info on headphones, its a dedicated forum just for headphones...good luck.....
