Denon AH-D7000 seem defective, but not sure.

I just received today my Denon Headphones AH-D7000. I hook them to my Arcam preamp C31, and there,I get grinching static sound when playing music only. I clean my headphone contact, same thing, static sound. I have another 2 pairs of cans, being sold, a Sennheiser HD650 and a Sony MDR-SA5000, and none of them do that static sound in the same preamp. So I assume it's the Denon which is defective. My Arcam CD player does not have headphone out, but I do have a Tascam CD recorder with headphone out. I switch player input and try the Tascam, same problem. I plug the Denon in Tascam CD player headphone out directly, and, problem is gone, no static. I even plug the Denon in another Yamaha HT AV receiver, and works fine also. So Denon seems to be fine also. Is there a possibility of impedance incompatibility between the Denon and Arcam. Denons are 25 ohms, Sony is 70 ohms, and Senn is 300 ohms. Arcam headphone out has output impedance of 4.7 ohms, and 5v maximum output level in 600 ohms. I'm puzzled, and was not able to do any elimination in the process, and not ready to send back the Denon for replacement as it works fine in other units, but the reason to use it is with my Arcam equipment and SACD Arcam player .Thanks. I would like to add, that my house is old, and not grounded. But I guess that applies to all equipment if anything wrong, and not just Denons.

Re: Denon AH-D7000 seem defective, but not sure.

Sorry everybody for the time. Figured this out. The Senns and the Sony were tested before being packed, and that is when I had a line conditioner attached. Now the line removed, that explains the Denon's static, as I mentioned I have no ground in house. Even turning my preamp on and off affects the CD player headphone output with or without static. So I have to solve my electrical problem. Thanks anyway.

Re: Denon AH-D7000 seem defective, but not sure.

Tried power line conditioner, and nothing happened, still getting static with the Denons. Other headphones are sold. What's puzzling, is that headphones work fine through CD headphone out. Contacted Denon, and they seem to think some impedance incompatibility between preamp headphone out, and headphones, and they'll research that. Anybody heard of such a thing ?
