Beyerdynamic DT231's, or a similar priced pair of open headphones?

Hi,

I have a budget of about £30-40 to spend on some headphones. I listen to music in my room at night through my NAD C315BEE. I don't need headphones that are mobile and they do not need to be silent to anyone around me, I just cant play music through a regular pair of speakers that late.

I looked around these forums and came to the consensus that Beyerdynamic DT231's seemed to be one of the best in my price range and had cotton ear cushions which seem more comfortable to me. However, I have also read that sometimes closed headphones such as the DT231's can sound restrictive and not as good as an equivalent open set of headphones. Although I'd like to try all the headphones before buying them it isn't possible.

Is there a better/open set that I should be considering instead?

Thanks.

I have DT231's that I use with my Ipod and through my Arcam 350 and for the money I don't think they can be bettered. (IMHO)
