Shure SE530 - hor do I remove earpads?

OK, I've had these shure se530 phones for a couple of months and have stuck with the medium size foam pads that come as supplied. I'd like to experiment with other size pads but I can't get the existing earpads off. I've twisted and pulled pretty hard but they just don't move. I'm scared I'll break 'em if I try any harder. Any suggestions?
