Sennheiser HD555, left ear suddenly stops working.

Hello! Well I just joined the forum because I have a problem! My Sennheiser HD555's left headphone suddenly stopped working and from what I hear, the thing doesn't have any capacitors (I'm really not familiar with electronics besides computers).

When I tap the headphone while it's on my head, the sound flickers on really shortly and stops again. My wild guess is that there's probably a bad connection internally.

Now not only am I hesitant to open them up to see inside but I wouldn't even know how...

Now even if I figured out how to open them, someone brought up that since I might have pushed the volume too high, maybe I torn what he called the "voice coil" in which case I certainly couldn't fix them myself

What would you guys do in my place? Thanks very much for your support =)

Re: Sennheiser HD555, left ear suddenly stops working.

I don't know what you should do but its likely that you have yanked the cable hard and the cable became disconnected the plug (?) thing. Best to call Sennheiser to see what they say, and if not sorted visit some hi-fi and ask who can help you with getting cabling problems sorted.
