New headphones or should I buy an amp first?

Hi,
I currently using an old set of Sennheiser HD540's Driven by an old Pioneer A400 Amp And Denon 2803 AV Receiver, I have been using as sources my iPod Connected to the Pioneer and my Denon 2910 dvd player connected to the Denon 2803.

Should I buy something like a Graham Slee Novo amp or replace my headphones with Sennheiser 650's first?

Source > Quality of Recording* > Headphones > Amp > Cables

I regard the first 3 as of equal importance. Upgrade your headphone before an amp. Always. £ for £ you will notice more of a difference. Amps do make a difference but don't buy one until you have a solid foundation to build from, so to speak

Coincidentally I have the Novo on loan: (good things -> good people)
Which full sized headphone? £150~£250/£300

I have ordered HD650's from Play. £170.99 delivered.
Looking forward to trying them out and finding out the improvements over the burning in period.

PS. Can you let me know what you think of the Novo.

Thanks.
