Hi all,
I'm after a new pair of headphones to complement my D2 DAP, to listen to some rock, some metal, and occasional hip hop.

I'm not after killer bass, but strong defined bass where it's supposed to be. I'm more interested in listening to detail, but not too toppy. My research has narrowed it down to these two guys which seem to fit the bill.

Any comments? The RE0s are a bit dearer at +£10, especially as the £/$ keeps worsening.

I don't plan on using a headphone amp, but would perhaps consider it for a strong argument.

Hm, the RE0s are now about £20 dearer once postage is taken into account. Looks like I might be swayed just on the price argument.
