Wireless headphones, any recommendations?

Hey Guys, anyone got any recommendations for some wireless headphones? Girlfriend can't sleep with the TV on but I can't miss out on Match of the Day

Looking for a set of cheapish wireless headphones to plug into the telly, any ideas/recommendations or are they all pretty much the same - quality doesn't bother me, especially when Motson is on!

Re: Wireless headphones, any recommendations?

Must they be wireless? You say cheap, and that is already rather incompatible with wireless... You can get regular stereo headphones and a 3m extension cable which will be cheaper and sound better. You won't be moving around anyway, right?

I'm also in the same position. I've been asked to find a some wireless headphones for my dad with a maximum budget of £30. He bought these off Amazon but is sending them back because of the hiss (which it actually tells you about in the reviews).

Re: Wireless headphones, any recommendations?

Hi Darth and Yoda, Like you I was looking for reasonably priced wireless headphones for late night TV and gaming after searching I eventually settled on a pair of Sennheiser HDR 130s, I paid £70.00 inc P&P, a bit more than £30.00 but worth every penny as I use them every night, they are easy to set up and charge and sound superb, these cans are well made, comfortable for long listening sessions and hiss free. Worth pushing the boat out for the quality and long term listening pleasure.

Re: Wireless headphones, any recommendations?

Important note: the HDR series has been replaced by the RS series. The latter is much better in all aspects. I have the HDR40, bought long time ago. I bought then the RS130 for my mother, paying approx. the same money than I paid for mine some years earlier, and they are sooo much better.

Hi Cribeiro, your post prompted me to have a look at what I bought, the box and all the paperwork refer to RS 130 but on the actual 'phones on each side of the headband the legend "HDR 130" is stenciled in the same manner as the Sennheiser logo on top of the headband, any thoughts?

PS I bought them last August.

Hello Ambient Fish,

I may have mixed up something here (EDIT: I definitely did!)... HDR130 is the model number for the headphone unit, and SR 130 for the set of transmitter base and headphone. For example, if you want a second headset to work with the same transmitter, you order "HDR130"

The previous series had the same SR and HDR labels as described above, the difference are only the numbers:

Old: SR30, SR40, SR45, SR65 and SR85
New: RS110, RS120, RS130, RS140

I apologize for the confusion

Re: Wireless headphones, any recommendations?

***BUMP***

Hi Guys! I am in a similar predicament! The Wife is always whinging at me for watching TV in bed. I know it's a bad habbit, butone that I am not willing to change lol!

I really need some Technical assistance though, as our first attempt at getting some (cheap) wireless headphones failed miserably!

I have found this set - The Sennheiser RS4200 Wireless Stereo Headset - for around £160. A bit pricey, but I think they might be my only option.

The main reason I am struggling is because of my set up. I have Sky Hd Downstairs, which feeds the TV upstairs via Co-Ax. The main problem we have, is that I can't find any feed / input for headphones on the bedroom TV. We have the LG 22LS4D (full spec here LG 22LS4D at Richer Sounds - HI-FI Separates, Home Cinema, Speakers, MP3 DVD Portables, Plasma LCD, etc.).

I cannot find anywhere on the LCD where I can plug in a 'Jack' or any headphone input!!!!!! On the front there are no inputs, and on the rear there is only PCMCIA / HDMI / RS232 / Component / RGB/DVI / Scart.

Would the RS4200 be compatible with this? The only solution I can think of is connecting the Headphone base to the Sky box downstairs, and then transmitting from there.

Is there anyone out there that can give me some advice??????

Thanks in advance.

Re: Wireless headphones, any recommendations?

Apparantly you have a SCART out on the back, so you should be able to get a Scart -> jack adapter.

Something like this i would assume

Have they already released a beta version of The Matrix in real life?
