Just Got my Sennheiser PXC450, but can't turn it on

hi, i just received my pxc450 from a ebay trusted seller, after i put in the battery and click the on/off button, the led won't turn on, and that noice canceling is not working. and i've checked, the switch is at "Normal". I also tried other battery, it still won't trun on. then I switch it to bypass, the music playing funtion works right, just can't figure out how to turn the noice canceling function on. is my headphone defected or is there something else i need to do to get it to work>?

Press and hold the power button, it requires a second or two to work.
