I was going to suggest getting a small cheap headphone amp but just had a quick look at the spec's on the pioneer website and it doesn't seem to have L/R output jacks so that wouldn't work with it.

Have you a Headphone jack on the tv?

Re: no headphone socket on my amp

Another dead end there then.

Not really sure what other options you have, without a working hp jack or rca outputs i cant think of any other way to get a pair of headphones connected up for you, sorry..

Re: no headphone socket on my amp

I don't have the Pioneer lx01 unit but found some specifications so please correct if I am wrong.
---------------------------------------
1x HDMI Output; 3x HDMI Input

2x Component Output
1x iPod Input
1x USB Input (Type A); 1x USB Input (Type B)
1x DV in

2x Scart
2x Optical In

2x Analogue Pair Phono Audio Input
-------------------------------------------

If these are correct then use one of the Scart sockets if they are fully wired for output.
------------------------------------------
Scart plug to phono adapter
Scart Adapter Only £4.39 at TVCables

2phono plug to 3.5 headphone socket
Stereo 3.5mm socket to twin phono, rca plugs, 0.2M
AA3114 Stereo 3.5mm socket to twin phono, rca plugs, 0.2M

Plug your headphones in to that socket

PS: you should be able to find these at a local hi-fi stockest
