JVC HA-FX34 Headphones problem

Hi all

My Dad bought me these:
JVC HA-FX34-BE - In Ear Marshmallow Headphones - Black: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics & Photo
for Christmas. Not hugely expensive, but he did pay £20 at PC World for them.

He was told these are better than the ones that come with the Ipod touch and would give better sound quality.

My problem is that when using these the sound is all tinny and really poor quality. Compared to the ipod earphones which sound fine and have good bass, these appear to have none and you actually have to turn the volume right up to get any sort of decent sound at all.

Is it possible these are faulty? or are they just crap?

Re: JVC HA-FX34 Headphones problem

Hi

I've just bought a pair of these to replace the ones that came with my new iPod Touch. I've never been a great fan of ear buds but think I'd probably look stupid walking the dog with my huge 20 year old Sennheissers!

I have to say that these are a revelation - extremely comfortable and very acceptable sound quality. The fact that they isolate a large proportion of external sound means that there's plenty of bass. Once fitted properly in the ears they don't want to fall out - which is the problem I usually have.

I've reads a few reviews of these earphones and most people think they're an improvement on the cheapies that come with most Ipods/MP3 players etc. If you don't put them in your ears properly, and make a good seal, they don't sound very good - most of the bass disappears. At the end of the day it's all very subjective, but I am surprised that you find them worse than the cheapies. Make sure they're well into your ear canal, scrunch 'em up good and proper before inserting them! If you're not getting much bass I would suggest they're faulty.

And I bought them this week in Morrisons supermarket for £7.86!

Dave
