| Re: Best headphones 5.1 for ps3 and Hi-Fi
I've never tried the most recent wireless ones, but certainly in the past, wired headphones usually offered superior sound quality to the wireless ones, and for less money.
The last ones I tried were, IIRC, the Pioneer DIR800 or something like that, and for the money, I thought they were quite poor. The volume was not enough, and the sound quality was lacking. I also didnt think that they really gave a convincing surround effect either.
Its very difficult to get a convincing, natural soundstage with headphones, so I would personally concentrate on the areas you can address to make your experience better. For gaming and movies, I'd suggest that you will want some headphones with a deep, powerful bass response, and that generally in my experience, tends to mean closed designs. As such, for the price, I would perhaps choose one of the Beyerdynamic headphones, such as the DT150, DT250 or DT770. When I had my DT770, I have to admit that I thought they were the best headphones I ever used for games and movies. Really impressive. Not quite as good as the best open designs for music, but really for the price, impressive.
