Skullcandy Hesh

This is my first time actually looking for earphones. Usually I just buy some cheap in-ear things (I have a tendency to break or lose them) but now I'm looking at
these.

I'm in Canada at the moment and can get them for roughly £33 in HMV.

They will be used for night time movies/games through a Yamaha AV Receiver and for long distance flights (to and from Canada) so I need them to sound good and be comfortable for long periods of time.

I've seen mixed reviews on other Skullcandy products on these forums but nothing about these. Anyone know how well these will meet my needs?

Also, what else of a similar price would recommend I look at? Don't really want to go over £40 as they won't be used all the time - I have nice speakers during the day and Sennheiser in-ear phones for my MP3 player while walking to/from uni.

Edit: just realised the length of the cable will important as when I use them for movies I'll be about 8/9 feet from the source. I checked the length of the cable on the Skullcandy's and it's only 1.2m so that rules them out unless you can get extensions for earphones.

Yes you can get extension cables for earphones, this sort of thing will do fine: Premium 3.5mm Extension Cable*::*3.5mm Audio Cables*::*Audio Cables*::*Audio Leads & Accessories*::*Cable Universe

Be careful with these headphones if you intend to use them as a hand to hand combat weapon, as this unfortunate reviewer discovered (from Play.com review):

'Unfortunately over time the bits that retract into the headband weaked and i hit a friend over the head with them in school and an earcup just snapped :-(.'

Re: Skullcandy Hesh

Friend had a pair of these and they sounded utterly horrific. Really really poor, in ways I cannot begin to describe.

Go for anything in the same price range from Sennheiser. Predictable answer, but you'll have a much better chance of getting something good. Except the HD205, they're more or less the same thing.
