Grado SR-60 or SR-80 for use with iPod?

I was about to buy a pair of Grado SR-60s for use with my iPod Classic. I have a lot of music in Apple Lossless format stored on my iPod and I wanted a decent set of headphones. I know that the SR-60s can be driven from an iPod with no need for a headphone amp.

However, the SR-80s appear to have slightly better lower end response. Would an iPod be able to drive these with no problems?

I have the SR 60's and they are lacking in bass. The 80' are supposed to have a better low end but I would try and have a listen before you buy! I think that both these models could possibly dissapoint if low end is important! Cant answer your question as reqards efficiency

Nether, order the alessandro MS1.

Better than both and cost $99 delivered from allessandro, so as good as the 125s and cheaper than the others. Win Win.

The MS1's seem to be more suited to heavy rock music. I want something that is detailed and open as I listen mainly to smooth jazz.

Grado's are definately detailed and as long as you dont mind a thin bass they could be OK for you. Still would recommend an audtion though!

My grados suit everything I throw at them, especially acoustic.

If you want grados then get the MS-1, they are unbeatable for the price, and would take them over the 60, 80 and 125.

Otherwise havea listen to the goldrings or sennhesiers.
