Reccomend me some beyer dynamic cans!

I like the look of the beyer dynamic range.

Need to buy some new over ear headphones to go with my iPhone 3G.

I figure some 80 ohm ones would be best as i dont want to have to carry around a headphone amp with me aswel.

What would everyones choices be, i have seen the DT770m, any good?

DT770 would be worth considering in 80 ohm form, but I think the DT770M you mentioned were designed for drummers, thus sounding different and having a high clamping force to those designed for music listening.

The DT250 (80) would be worth your consideration too. I believe the DT660 is also a closed design but I dont know much about these.

I am thinking closed is the way forward as I use tube/train a fair bit and it would be ncie to block out some of the noise.

Re: Reccomend me some beyer dynamic cans!

Have a read through some of these google results (all link to headfi)...

http://www.google.co.uk/search?sourc...e+Search&meta=

Edited to add: If its a balanced sound you are after, with no particularly emphasis on highs or lows, just a relatively natural sound then I think the DT250 is probably your best, TBH. The DT770 is very bassy and the DT660 probably fairly bright. Of course you may like one or the other...

For bassy sound I can highly recommend the DT770s.

Re: Reccomend me some beyer dynamic cans!

not the best headphones ever, bit disappointed!

Head band is too large, i have an average sized head, and at the smallest setting is just about ok, slightly too big if anything.

Sound quality is pretty good, not quite as loud as i might have hoped but i dont like it too loud either way!

Re: Reccomend me some beyer dynamic cans!

Headband is a similar design to that on the Ultrasone stuff, and I found it OK to be honest. Saying that, it isnt as good as the DT770/880/990, which in turn arent as good as the DT531/831/931 which really were supremely comfortable.

I'm sure you'll get used to it though.

eeekkk, Beyers out of an iPhone with no amp .. going to be a hard one....

In fact, I'd give it a miss, my Ipod at 90% can just about drive my DT770/80 but the sound is flat, no attack etc. But as soon as I drop and amp in there they shoot into life. The iPhone just doesn't have the oomph to drive full sized cans.

Re: Reccomend me some beyer dynamic cans!

ah, my DT770 were 80 ohmn.

But they are hungry cans, when you amp them up and give them some juice they really shine, but they will work from any DAP type source, just not sure of the synergy between iphone and cans.
