Okay question for you guys…
I’m looking to buy the Samsung 55” 950 LCD in the near future, but have just noticed that it doesn’t have a headphone jack. As a father, who’s son sleeps in a room near the lounge, this is a necessity for watching films and playing games late at night. Not only that, the 950 doesn’t have analogue output, only optical.
I do have a surround sound system, but an old one, without an optical input. As such, I’m looking for a solution which will either convert optical output for regular headphones, or decent quality headphones which use optical input.
Looking around a bit, the following solutions have come to light:
1) JVC SU-DH1 Surround Headphone Adapter
This looks like a good solution… and a definite possibility.

2) Pioneer SE-DIR800CII Dolby Digital Surround Headphones System
Quite pricey, but look like a good pair of headphones. My only concern is that looking at the manual it states that it doesn’t plat MPEG 2 ACC. As such, not sure if it will work with my PS3 for games, Blu-ray and also watching downloaded bittorrent content.

3) Sharkoon X-TATIC 5.1 v2 Dolby® Headphone
Hear mixed things about these… certainly cheaper!

So, I was just wondering if anyone had any opinions on either of the above, or had any other solutions in mind.
Thanks
