Question Headphones for LCD TV / XBox 360

Hi all, first post in this section for me, and possibly the noobiest question some of the more regular visitors will see.

Basically, with late night XBox'ing in mind, and possible HD-DVD viewing, I'm trying to confirm whether I can get a basic set of headphones, like these here and simply plug them into the 3.5mm socket in my LCD TV. Would this then route all audio from my XBox 360 and HD-DVD player (both connected via HDMI) through to the headphones, therefore reducing the noise that my family/the neighbours will hear to zero?? Or am I making it seem more simple than it actually is??

I'm aware that voice comms will not be possible, so I'm thinking they might come in handy for watching films/playing single player games.

Thanks in advance, and apologies for the nooby question

should work, not sure if you will have to turn the volume on your tv down when you plug them in or not or if it will must e automatically, but you will be able to listen with no noise from the speakers.

Re: Headphones for LCD TV / XBox 360

Thanks mossym - that's pretty much all I'm looking to achieve, is to be able to hear the DVD/XBox 360 through some headphones that are plugged in directly to my LCD via the 3.5mm socket.......no good playing GTA4 with the TV on volume 4 to keep the sleeping family/neighbours happy
